About 5 years ago while reading an article about bullying and mean girls, I saw a picture of a little girl wearing a t-shirt that said, “Future Diva,” and it filled me with despair about the the attitudes we are harboring in our next generation. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if we could make it cool to be positive?” Right there and then, the idea for Bee Attitudes came to me like a gift and I knew this was going to be my future.
A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out a desk and I came across a long forgotten note that my mother, who was the queen of positive attitudes, sent me probably 30 years ago. It is very simple; 2 Post It notes stuck together, back to back, enclosing my favorite flowers, Forget-Me-Nots. See for yourself, my mother speaking to me across time, validating my idea, encouraging me and bringing tears to my eyes. Thank you, Mom!
