Mike Jeffries, CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch has been under attack for a few years for his blatant retail exclusion of anyone not cool, not hot, not skinny enough for Abercrombie & Fitch clothes. He has even gone so far as to declare Abercrombie & Fitch will not sell clothes in sizes beyond large.
Our hips are too wide & the music way too loud for us to shop at Abercrombie & Fitch. But something tells us we are not their demographic anyway. Regardless there is some magic behind his marketing because they have a big presence in the retail market place. What that magic is must be akin to sorority and fraternity rushing since he openly targets, in his words, “attractive all-American kids with great attitudes and lots of friends.”
According to Mike Jeffries' business philosophy, Bee Attitudes is doomed to fail. Why? Because in his words, “companies that try to target everybody become totally vanilla.” Are we crazy enough to think we can we make a change and divert from a proven successful marketing strategy? Yes... and as you tune in more to us, you will find we love people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world!
We are in the business of making positive & comfortable t-shirts for anybody and everyBODY who believes their attitude can change the world. Some of our shirts for women are more fitted, some looser but we have a shirt for every BODY. And over time, our plan is to offer every attitude in more than one style so you can have the fit you love and the attitude you want for YOUR body.
We are a young (and did we mention fearless) company but already we are proving Mr. Jeffries wrong. Our loyal and growing number of customers is showing us it is possible to have a successful brand that is for all women. If you love our positive attitudes, you can help us by spreading the word about Bee Attitudes, reading and sharing our new blog and remembering we offer an alternative to consumers who are ready for a brand that is not about selling to a certain group but is about BEE-ing for everyBODY.
